HARES: Sally Miller & O'Neal Payne helped by Nigel
SCRIBE: DHASY
The hash run # 1174 was aset at the beautiful Easy Hall Plantation which is situated in St. Joseph, St. John boundary. The original hare was Sally Miller who was to be assisted by DHASY. After Sally damaged her knee on the Great Train Hike DHASY had to seek the help of one Nigel Horsford.
The run started and headed south through the outskirts of Mr. Humanitarian, the guy who humanitised the Sugar industry some years ago when the crop was threatened with strike action over a couple hundred thousand dollars.
The FRBS were always just ahead of the walkers as the hares made sure to set some reasonably straight forward checks. The way forward led them into Blackman's gully where the first back check stumped them for a while. However when it was found the trail took them to the Errol Barrow Park which has one of the most picturesque views on that side of the island. The only hiccup was that by George, the park was overun by Bush. (Maybe there was an invasion by US troops.) There was another back check which was as the hares thought strategically placed to slow down the FRBs. However this did not seem to be the case.
The trail then went towards Lemon Arbor where most of the Hounds felt that we were having a souse and "proper" pork stop. It was at this point that the division between the runners and the walkers came. The walkers were taken into the Wilson Hill community park towards Villa Nova, while the runners went off in search of Wakefield old plantation house which needs to be harvested along with the sweet potatoes.
Onward the runners went to church at the Mount Tabor Moravian Church or as Sally called it "the little church by her friend." The trail continued through Venture along one of the most beautiful garden scenes where all the flours were in bloom along side the road. On they went via a wooden bridge which Sally professed she had built for this specific run, maybe she is a "DEAR LOVING PERSON" bearing in mind that we were now in the parish of St. John.
The end of the trail was now in site as they came upon money and everyone thought they were going to be rich, only to discover that the money referred to was George Money who lives in the area.
The afternoon was well spent as Sally had bribed DHASY to stay in Barbados by cooking corn soup which he would have consumed in T&T anyway. The beastly cold beers were consumed with great haste as though the folks were trying to beat the price increase.
After all the downs downs which were abley performed by Megabytes were over, Sally's corn soup and half cooked dumplings disappeared in a flash. Finally our hosts the Armstrong's invited some of the folks including the hares for a night cap which was readily accepted. Thanks for a splendid afternoon and a fairly good hash run.
DHASY.
